This evening Liverpool welcome Spurs to Anfield - and if they win Brendan Rodgers’ side will go top of the Premier League table with just six games left to play.
Of course Manchester City still have eight to play - but after they drew against Arsenal and Chelsea suffered a shock loss to Crystal Palace, avoiding defeat today will see Liverpool top the table.
This certainly appears like Liverpool’s best ever chance of winning the Premier League title.
In recent weeks they have been fantastic. The partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge is simply terrifying. Steven Gerrard has been fantastic in midfield and ably assisted by Jordan Henderson - and while the defence may be leaky, Liverpool appear confident that they can outscore any team at the moment.
Up until yesterday Liverpool have been dark horses - underdogs for the crown.
At least not according to a poll undertaken by Match of the Day yesterday.
They asked viewers to vote in and suggest who they thought were now favourites for the Premier League title - and Liverpool won a landslide vote, 57% of fans believing they will beat Chelsea, City and Arsenal to the crown.
With expectations now high and Tottenham visiting with Champions League blood scent on their whiskers, today could see that percentage rise or plummet by full time.
