The Romanian centre-back has been one of Tottenham Hotspur’s better signings under previous manager Andre Villas-Boas, despite making just 13 Premier League appearances.
The 24-year-old has been out of action since picking up a back injury during Tottenham’s 5-1 drubbing at home to Manchester City at the end of January, but his recovery has taken another step in the right direction.
Chiriches completed the full 90 minutes of Tottenham Hotspur U21's 2-0 victory over North London rivals Arsenal U21 at White Hart Lane on Friday, and he spoke to Spurs TV of his delight at making his comeback.
“It has been eight hard weeks for me, but now I’m feeling good. I want to finish the season well, I hope we can find our objectives and we will be good at the end.”
Whilst this Sunday’s clash with Liverpool is too soon for Vlad Chiriches, he will be hoping to make a return for Tottenham’s two remaining London derbies against Fulham and West Ham United over the next six weeks.
