Manchester City Player Ratings vs Arsenal - Silva shines again

Manuel Pellegrini

How did Manchester City's players fare in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal? Here are the ratings for Manuel Pellegrini's side...

Joe Hart 7 - Hart didn't have a great deal to do, but commanded his area well when he needed to. There was little he could've done with the goal.

Pablo Zabaleta 7 - Got forward well in the first half though his decision making let him down at times, but was pushed back a little further in the second half as Arsenal improved.

Vincent Kompany 8 - Barely allowed Olivier Giroud a sniff and was constantly marshalling his defence in another impressive captain's display from the Belgian.

Martin Demichelis 7 - Ideal sort of game for Demichelis. The Argentine struggles when asked to deal with pace, but Arsenal kept everything in front of him and Giroud didn't stretch him enough.

Gael Clichy 7 - Faced with his former club, Clichy tried to get forward in the first half but much like Zabaleta, was called into defensive action more in the second period.

Fernandinho 7 - Was all-action in the middle of the park with a number of tackles, but he let himself down by taking on long range shots when there were better options around him.

Yaya Toure 6 - Fought well in midfield but wasn't his usual lung-busting self for City, and didn't get forward with as much purpose as recent games.

Jesus Navas 7 - troubled Kieran Gibbs with his pace on a number of occasions but the delivery into the box was never quite up to the required standard.

David Silva 8 - Silva gave another great performance in the final third, even aside from his goal. The goal itself was scrappy, but you couldn't say that about his all-round game, as he constantly getting on the ball in the final third.

Samir Nasri 7 - Another player facing his former club, Nasri wasn't quite as impressive as he'd have hoped but was always a danger cutting in from the left hand side onto his right foot.

Edin Dzeko 6 - Dzeko failed to build on his brace against Manchester United with a disappointing display today. The service he had wasn't great, but with only two shots on goal, he never really troubled Wojciech Szczesny in the Arsenal goal.

Subs:

James Milner 6 - Came on for a tiring Jesus Navas to offer the side more stability, and Milner worked hard for the final 20 minutes.

Javi Garcia 6 - Another player introduced to shore up the City defence as Arsenal attacked more, Garcia touched the ball just nine times in an uneventful cameo appearance.

Alvaro Negredo 6 - Came on late for Edin Dzeko but wasted a half decent chance.
