EA to give away free games to Origin users

Dead Space Screen 1

The new On the House service gives users their first free game - Dead Space.

In an announcement on Origin’s website, the digital download platform’s new On the House program is now live.

Following in the footsteps of Playstation Network’s Instant Game Collection, and Xbox LIVE’s Games with Gold, Origin’s new service is slightly different – you don’t pay a subscription. There is no set date for when a game will become free, so you'll need to keep your eye out for the offers and act quickly.

Once you’ve claimed your free game it’s yours to keep, it’ll sit in your games library for you to download, uninstall, and re-install forever.

Currently over on the On the House page you can bag yourself the brilliant Dead Space, absolutely free. In the game you play Isaac Clarke, an engineer sent to repair the mining ship Ishimura’s communications array. But when you get there, you find that the crew have been butchered and infected by some kind of alien organism. With Isaac’s repair mission changing into one of survival, you’ll be jumping out of your seat as you frantically try to make it through the survival horror alive.
