Saturday's lunchtime kick off between Manchester United and Aston Villa started as so many games have for United recently, an early goal against them and a nervous stadium thereafter.
But approaching the hour mark, the match had been turned on its head, with a Wayne Rooney double cancelling out Ashley Westwood's opener.
And then came the moment United fans had been waiting for as record signing Juan Mata got in on the act with his first goal for the club.
The little Spaniard reacted quickest after a header into the box by Alexander Buttner caused confusion in the Villa defence, with Marouane Fellaini bringing the ball down and turning for a shot only for it to fall to Mata to lash home.
There will likely be many more moments of Mata paying off instalments of his transfer fee, and probably in much more important circumstances than the third goal in a home win over Villa. But given the difficult week United have suffered, a little success from their Janauary acquisition is a welcome relief.
