Southampton can leapfrog Newcastle United with a win over the Magpies today, as ninth play host to eighth in the Premier League table.

Mauricio Pochettino's men are coming off the back of tough loss to Spurs, where the Saints were 2-0 up over Tottenham, but a great comeback from Tim Sherwood's side saw Gylfi Sigurdsson strike an injury time winner.

The omen's look good for Southampton today, as the Saints have lost just one of their last 20 league games against Newcastle, but with just two wins in the last nine games at St. Mary's, Alan Pardew's men will be optimistic of coming back from the South Coast with a win.

But having failed to score in nine of their last 13 Premier League games, goals are hard to come by and the absence of Loic Remy is a blow to the Magpies, who can pull clear of the Saints with a win today.
