Arsenal Player Ratings vs Manchester City - Giroud and Podolski quiet

How did Arsenal's players fare in their 1-1 draw against Manchester City? Here are the ratings for Arsene Wenger's side...

Wojciech Szczesny 8 - The Polish international kept Arsenal in the game with a number of good saves, in a fairly impressive display from the Arsenal #1.

Bacary Sagna 7 - Sagna got forward well and was a threat on the overlap, putting in a dangerous cross that just needed a touch to put Arsenal in front at 1-1.

Per Mertesacker 7 - Another solid display from the giant German, who worked well to limit City striker Edin Dzeko to just two shots on goal in the game.

Thomas Vermaelen 7 - Whilst not as physically imposing as Mertesacker, Vermaelen did well in the air and as aforementioned, worked well to contain Dzeko.

Kieran Gibbs 6 - Had a fair amount of trouble with forward runs from Pablo Zabaleta, whilst Jesus Navas also got some joy out of the England international - it wasn't all his fault though, as Lukas Podolski just wasn't interested in tracking back.

Mathieu Flamini 7 - Performed well in the vital role in front of the back four, but demonstrated his importance to the Gunners by popping up at the other end to equalise for Wenger's men.

Mikel Arteta 7 - Kept the ball well in midfield and formed a strong tandem with Flamini in front of the back four, but didn't get forward enough to support the attack.

Santi Cazorla 8 - the diminutive Spaniard was influential in all Arsenal's attacks, as he constantly getting on the ball in the final third and looking to hurt the City back line.

Tomas Rosicky 6 -  Failed to really impose himself on the game and was guilty of giving away possession cheaply on a number of occasions.

Lukas Podolski 6 - Struggled in the first half as City attacked down the Arsenal left, but improved a little in the second - however, he still isn't taking his chance in the starting line-up.

Olivier Giroud 6 - Giroud was fairly ineffectual throughout as the City defensive partnership of Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis shackled the Frenchman well.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 7 - Provided a much needed change of pace for Arsenal, and showed direct running in possession late on to trouble a tired City defence.

Yaya Sanogo - wasn't on the pitch long enough to make an impact.
