18-year-old winger-come-striker Dorin Rotariu has had something of a breakthrough year at Dinamo Bucharest this season.
The talent, who is dubbed ‘Van Persie’ amongst his team-mates, because of his vicious left-foot strike, has been finding the net regularly this term.
He has stated to the Romanian press:
"Mourinho knows him, and Villa-Boas knows him, and David Moyes. He is the first on the list when Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are looking for youth."
It was then later reported that United were considering a £3 million bid for the player - as he continued to impress this season.
But none of his goals for the club would have felt as instantaneously good as the one he bagged last night.
In the 32nd minute he scored this equalising goal for Dinamo - against their bitter rivals Steaua in the Romanian Cup semi-final match at the National Arena.
That levelled things at 1-1 - and was Rotariu’s second goal of his career against Steaua.
However his day did not end well.
Steaua went on to thrash Dinamo 5-2 thanks to goals from Iasmin Latovlevici, Fernando Varela, Alexandru Chipciu, Cristian Tanase and Claudiu Keseru - with a solitary reply from Valentin Lazar.
The final score was therefore 5-2 - and if he does head to the UK it may have been his last ever cup game in Romania.
Not one to remember after 32 minutes.
