Now we all know that Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Brazilian but no, he has not decided to hand the former Anzhi player an unprecedented contract at the club.
Willian Borges da Silva has instead agreed a new deal with American sports giant Nike.
With the likes of adidas and Puma making big moves in the football market in recent years the manufacturers have reacted by tying down top stars to long deals in which they will wear the apparel provided.
For Willian he was already with Nike - and the union is good regarding his national team Brazil, who are also adorned with the swoosh.
Club Chelsea would have loved him to have considered a deal with adidas - of course - but if Nike boots have him chasing round the pitch the way he does week in week out than Chelsea fans will happily see him do that for another eight years.
Willian has become an essential cog in the stylish but functional style of play Jose Mourinho has brought back to Stamford Bridge.
And in all honesty, if he performs well, we doubt Chelsea fans will care what he has on his feet.
Signing my new contract with Nike! More 8 years together!! Very happy!! @nikefootball
