The top five players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Costa, Lallana and more

Adam Lallana

Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Southampton stars all feature.

Chelsea are in a great position to win the Premier League and are ranked as one of the favourites to progress to the last four in the Champions League.

The Blues have had a great season and they will still be bathing in the success of completely destroying Arsenal last weekend, which has enabled them to stay at the top of the Premier League.

Mourinho has a lot of work to do this summer to address one or two areas of his squad, which will hopefully keep his side ahead of their rivals.

Here are five of the best players linked with Chelsea moves this week.

Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

Chelsea have reportedly already started talks over a deal to sign the prolific La Liga forward this summer. Reported fees suggest anything up to £40 million may have to be paid by the Blues but he’s the marquee signing who would allow Mourinho to address his apparent centre forward problem.

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Benzema’s agent started making a lot of noise earlier this week over a possible move to the Premier League for the Frenchman. The two sides believed to be interested in him are Manchester City and Chelsea, with Mourinho keen on his former player should he fail to land Diego Costa.

Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)

The Bayern hit man has been suggested as another potential striker target for Jose Mourinho. However, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinze Rummenigge recently revealed that he thinks the striker will stay at the German champions, which could make it difficult for the Blues to do a deal.

Adam Lallana (Southampton)

The Mirror has reported that Chelsea have apparently already made contact with the South coast club over a summer move. The England midfielder has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season and a natural replacement for someone like Frank Lampard.

Luke Shaw (Southampton)

The left-back sensation isn’t an unfamiliar name these days to Chelsea fans and he remains firmly linked with a switch to West London. Shaw is reportedly seen by Chelsea as the long term replacement for Ashley Cole and someone who would release Cesar Azpilicueta to go and play at right-back.
