The name Ledley King, for many people, will bring up memories of a truly incredible defender that battled with injuries throughout his whole career. A shame for anyone who watched him at his best, because on his day, he was as good as any defender in football.
A statement backed by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry who named the Spurs defender as the best he ever faced in his career.
In a recent interview with FourFourTwo, it is another Arsenal legend that won the praise of the former Spurs defender.
After reminiscing on his early days as a professional footballer, he admitted just how important Arsenal legend George Graham was to his progression in a Tottenham shirt.
'He came with the reputation of being an Arsenal player and manager,' said Ledley King.
'Even though he'd been very successful there that was never going to make it any easier to win over the fans. But he really helped me because he was a defensive-minded coach and as a young player you need someone to help you learn the basics.
'He wasn't worried what fans thought of him. He was a tough man and all he wanted to do was win - he wanted trophies.
'He had a great passion and tried to get into the player but unfortunately it wasn't to be.'
Tottenham Hotspur proved to be the last job George Graham had in management and despite years of success at Highbury, he left White Hart Lane with just a League Cup to his name.
Nevertheless, he obviously made an impact on a young Ledley King and put the centre-back on the right track to becoming one of Spurs' best players in the Premier League era.
It's just a shame that injuries prevented the defender from ever really reaching his full potential, which could have led him to the same heights in his career as John Terry and Rio Ferdinand have had in theirs.
