With Patrice Evra and Ashley Cole out of contract in the summer, potential replacements are being touted in the press.
Alberto Moreno’s stock has risen in the last 12 months, with the versatile defender impressing for both Sevilla and the Spain national side.
With the full-back’s future up in the air amid perceived interest from overseas, Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed that the La Liga outfit rejected an offer from a major Premier League club in January.
“In December many clubs came forward and we refused a big offer from the Premier League for him,” the executive told Onda Cero.
“Even now, several clubs watch him on a weekly basis. I believe he will have a bright career and I hope he stays at Sevilla for a long time.
“But if we receive an indecent proposal he will leave.”
Moreno is in the running to be included in Spain’s squad for this summer’s World Cup and is likely to be the focus of a number of clubs’ attention once more.
Real Madrid have also been linked with the defender.
