Barry Ferguson has strengthened his striking options once more by bringing in 22-year-old Greek striker Apostolos Vellios.
Vellios has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season despite Everton having sold Nikica Jelavic and experiencing injury problems with Arouna Kone and Lacina Traore.
The Greece Under-21 international signed for Everton from Iraklis in January 2011 on a four-year-deal. He has since made 22 appearances in the league for The Toffees but none whatsoever under Roberto Martinez. This will be his first loan spell away from Goodison Park.
The striker scored three goals in his first 235 minutes of football for Everton but his chances have always been limited.
Blackpool are currently sitting in 18th place in the Championship just nine points away from the drop zone. Two more wins should probably see them safe but that is easier said than done for The Seasiders. They have won just two of their last 22 games and fans have been protesting against the owners.
Blackpool allowed Nathan Eccleston to join Coventry City on loan yesterday whilst Anderson Banvo also left temporarily, joining Stevenage.
However Blackpool are still left with an abundance of strikers capable of firing them to safety. Their top goalscorer is Ricardo Fuller with six goals and he also has the assistance of Andy Keogh, David Goodwillie, Michael Chopra, Stephen Dobbie and they have also recently signed Robert Earnshaw. Steven Davies was ruled out until the end of the season recently.
