Revealed: 57% of fans want new boss at Tottenham next season

Tim Sherwood Press Conference 12/02/2014

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Tim Sherwood's future at White Hart Lane, so we asked the fans what they thought.

It has been a difficult period for Tim Sherwood as Head Coach at Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.

After a positive start to life in the Spurs hot seat since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in December, which saw the club right in the mix for Champions League qualification, they’ve hit a bumpy patch that seems to make that particular target unlikely.

Couple that with elimination from all of the cup competitions the club has been involved in, it doesn’t look like the kind of season that Tottenham will be able to call successful.

There is  a degree of division amongst fans about whether he should be the man to lead Spurs into next season and it has caused plenty of debate. But a clear, though not overwhelming, majority of fans believe that Sherwood should not be in the White Hart Lane dugout as Manager or Head Coach going into the 2014/15 campaign.

Our poll was taken by 969 people, with 554 voters (57.2%) saying that they would like to see a new man taking charge of first team affairs at White Hart Lane next season.

Speculation has been rife over the future of Sherwood, with Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal saying he is open to managing in the Premier League after he has overseen their World Cup campaign in Brazil this summer.

Here is what a few of you had to say on the subject:

"I really want to see a top class coach at Spurs next season as Tim is not experienced enough yet , perhaps keep him at Spurs as a back up coach to the new manager where he can learn a lot .Through no fault of his own but too many games have been lost this season due to either bad team selections and the inability to make changes when needed on the pitch..Somehow i don't expect Lewis will allow Tim to be in charge next season as he has expressed his anger on the results so far this season ." - DM

"Tim to be the understudy of LVG if he wants to gain any further experience to his career." - Roy Singh.

"Are you joking ? These player deserve a better manager then this guy." - Bob

"Come on dude give Tim a chance he's know the club it's what we need coys." - James [in reply to Bob].
