Arsene Wenger has given a glowing reference to Kim Kallstrom's ability upon his return to fitness.
He was able to show briefly what he was capable of, with an impressive defence splitting pass which a nippier striker than Olivier Giroud would have been able to make more of.
The man who signed him, Arsene Wenger, is clearly delighted to have the loanee finally fit since his deadline day move from Spartak Moscow.
The Frenchman did not hold back in his praise of the Swedish international yesterday, telling Arsenal.com:
"He has an absolutely fantastic attitude, he's a credit to the job because of his attitude, his focus and his determination. He works hard, he's helpful and he's marvellous.
"I'm convinced that he can be important for starting or coming on in the games because he has the experience, he has quality and his attitude is fantastic."
Wenger may be particularly invested in seeing a player he was criticised for signing coming good, but given Aaron Ramsey's extended injury lay-off, Kallstrom still has a chance to make an impact despite his own earlier injury.
In fact Kallstrom sounds just like the ideal player for Wenger to call upon right now, an international of more than 100 caps, and a player who has performed in the Champions League exactly 50 times.
Wenger said after the game in midweek that he felt this tough period of matches was no time to throw in youngsters, but in 31-year-old Kallstrom, perhaps he has the right solution to give the Gunners a much-needed lift when Manchester City visit on Saturday.
