Chelsea morning news: Blues reportedly open talks for TWO summer targets

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Express has reported that Chelsea are closing the net around Atletico Madrid star Diego Costa.

Costa has been a reported target for the Blues throughout the current season as they weigh up signing a high profile forward this summer.

The national daily suggests Chelsea are working hard to get a deal done before Costa leaves for the World Cup in Brazil.

Discussions are also reportedly under way for the Blues to make a move for Southampton’s Adam Lallana this summer.

Sky Italia has suggested that the West London club have already made contact with the Saints over a potential deal for the creative midfielder.

Lallana has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, likely to feature in Roy Hodgson’s England World Cup squad.

Ryan Bertrand says he’s prepared to leave the club if he’s not made first choice left-back next season.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan with Aston Villa and hasn’t dismissed the idea of leaving the Blues in the summer.

“Come the summer I need to be the No.1 left-back, wherever that will be. I have ambitions but I have to be realistic as well. I will sit down and consider all my options,” he told the Daily Star.
