Chelsea latest: Hazard hints doing PSG like Arsenal, £35m beast in for Ba & more

All the latest news and views from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea began their day by uploading a photograph of fan favourite Frank Lampard to their official Instagram account, reportedly taken this morning, two days ahead of the club's upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

While many athletes cite clubs such as Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool at Anfield or Bayern Munich at home or away as the toughest opponents, big-game striker Samuel Eto'o provided a perhaps somewhat surprising answer when he mentioned Palace as the hardest… his reasoning? "They are next."

On the club's official website, he also touched on his disappointment not to score on his Chelsea debut, that he relishes spending time with his friends and family in Cameroon and the toughest part of training is when your team-mates aren't there and you have to train by yourself.

While Eto'o looks toward the Palace test, Eden Hazard anticipates Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League: "We know PSG like to play like Arsenal but if we press them [we can get success]," he told Canal+ in a statement that could be interpreted as Chelsea having the capability to slay the Ligue 1 side as easily as they did the Gunners!

The Blues recently tormented Arsene Wenger's side with a 6-0 humiliation in a game that left Chelsea fans delighted having virtually knocked one legitimate title challenger out of the race for this year's Premier League crown.

A 6-0 drubbing in Europe may be unlikely as Hazard acknowledged that PSG have a tight defence. He identified their best players: "Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic impresses me more] of course but Thiago Motta is also a great player. Yohan [Cabaye] is part of the great players, [Edinson] Cavani also, and their defence is tough."

Meanwhile, according to RMC, Demba Ba was quoted to have said that his departure is on the horizon: "My agent has spoken to the club about a departure and he has started speaking with other clubs about a contract for next season."

With the future of Ba and Eto'o both unclear, the Express have ran an 'exclusive' which claims Chelsea to be opening up procedures with Atletico Madrid over the lucrative transfer of predatory forward Diego Costa, once described by Wenger as an "animal" and a renowned beast of a striker.

And finally, here is Eto'o's favourite musician; Congo-based Koffi Olomide.
