Set in 16th century Japan during the ‘Warring States’ period, Total War: SHOGUN 2 will let you play as the leader of one of nine clans vying for domination of Japan, to ultimately rule and become shogun.
Utilising turn-based political strategy and real-time battles, you will command samurai, ninja, and warrior monks in order to turn the tide in your favour. Battles can take place on snowcapped mountains, fortified hilltop citadels, and fields adorned with cherry blossom. Develop your clan’s infrastructure, research new technologies and advance your political position by employing diplomacy and using covert agents to sway rival clans.
The release of the game on the Mac will include all the added content packs already available on PC – including the Rise of the Samurai Campaign DLC, which is set 400 years previous to the game’s main story.
David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive (the publishing company bringing the game to the Mac), said, “Total War: SHOGUN 2 is a meticulous depiction of an exciting period in Japanese history.” David continued by saying, “From the AI’s use of authentic Samurai battle tactics to the Japanese woodcut style of the UI, every aspect of the game is rendered in evocative detail.”
