'They have no chance' - Former Liverpool and City star on United chances against Bayern

Bayern Allianz Arena

Steve McManaman believes Manchester United have 'no chance' of beating Bayern Munich in the upcoming Champions League tie.

Last night saw Manchester United’s season take another turn in the wrong direction - as Manchester City beat them comfortably in a 3-0 derby day win.

For some the fall of United this season is an upsetting experience - those people of course are majoritavely United fans themselves.

But one group of fans not exactly feeling sorry for the demise of the Red Devils are those of a Liverpool persuasion.

As a Luis Suarez inspired Liverpool side march toward an end of season battle for United’s title there is no doubt the fans are enjoying this little role reversal.

As United toil Liverpool prosper - but United do still have one little one-up on the Reds fans for now.

They are still in with a shout of winning the Champions League after sweeping aside Olympiakos in the second leg of their Champions League second round match earlier this month.

So while Liverpool are certainly looking forward to getting back stuck into the big time of European football United are already there - although one former Liverpool man does not think they will be there for long.

Of course United have to take on the best team in the world right now Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

The Bavarian outfit wrapped up the Bundesliga title yesterday and now have sole focus on cup competitions - as they look to add a second consecutive treble to their massive trophy cabinet.

And former Liverpool, and of course Manchester City, star Steve McManaman has given his former rivals no hope in hell of defeating the Bundesliga kings:

"Real Madrid are clear favourites in this tie [against Borussia Dortmund], but to win the Champions League the favourite is Bayern Munich. United? Noooo. They have no chance . Against Bayern, no. Bayern Munich have an amazing team. Over fifty games unbeaten is an amazing record."

Yeah, we think Macca made his point very clear.
