Stats: Giroud WORSE than Chelsea flop & 66 Prem stars in key areas

Emirates Stadium

Arsenal forward woefully behind Premier League elite when it comes to chance conversion: Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur all featured.

Arsenal star forward Olivier Giroud, who has netted 19 times in all competitions (including Champions League qualification), has a shot to goal conversion that pales in comparison to strikers at rival clubs from trigger happy Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to resurgent Tottenham Hotspur asset Emmanuel Adebayor and Newcastle United hotshot Loic Remy when it comes to the Premier League.

As is evidenced from the data table below, when it comes to pure striking efficiency, Adebayor is the least wasteful attacker, producing a goal once every 3.75 shots he takes on average.

Liverpool goal-scorer Daniel Sturridge is, perhaps surprisingly, more efficient than his strike partner Suarez, as he puts the ball in the net once in every 3.9 shot attempts compared to the Uruguayan record-breaker who scores at least one goal for every five shots.

Giroud is way behind.

Even further behind than Chelsea misfit Samuel Eto'o, who scores once every 6.25 shots he takes as Giroud will fail to score with six efforts before scoring with his seventh.

Prior to Arsenal's match-up with Swansea City, Giroud had a conversion rate of one goal for every 7.25 shots, however, the Frenchman scored in the second half of their Emirates Stadium game against the Welsh visitors and so now has a conversion rate of one goal for every 7.0 shots.

Out of all the players listed, Giroud also comes out worst when it comes to misses from inside the penalty area, while he also has the most misses when it comes to goal attempts via the head.

The following is an exhaustive list detailing 68 of the best to worst shots on target percentage for Premier League strikers. While hitmen like Javier Hernandez are renowned for finding the target, Giroud is as poor as maligned Spaniard at Stamford Bridge - Fernando Torres, with each forward occupying 67th and 68th place, respectively.

Even Samuel Eto'o, Jozy Altidore, Carlton Cole and Nicklas Bendtner find the target with greater frequency than Giroud.
