Sir Alex Ferguson looked to be in a good mood as he took his seat for the Manchester derby last night. It didn’t last for long.
There was hope that United could put in a good display against City following positive performances against Olympiakos in the Champions League and at West Ham in the Premier League.
However, that hope was short lived as Manchester City quite literally wiped the smile above off of Fergie’s face.
Fergie watched on as the man he chose to replace him at Old Trafford saw another home defeat to a rival, with further records falling including the fastest goal by an away side at United in the Premier League.
He soon cut the jaded and concerned figure we saw during the league match against Liverpool at Old Trafford, with his former side unable to turn things around after going behind in the game early.
There is a lot of mixed feeling towards Fergie this morning for pushing for the appointment of Moyes to follow him, partly leading to the situation United currently find themselves in.
