Markus "Notch" Persson takes to twitter to say he’s calling off making an Oculus Minecraft version.

It came as a sudden surprise yesterday to hear Facebook announce they’ve bought VR tech champions Oculus Rift and early on big guns in the games world are starting to react.

Minecraft creator Markus Persson who has been previously working to bring the hugely successful sandbox game to Oculus soon came out and tweeted,

Later Persson linked up a more detailed post explaining his motives where he stated,

“I definitely want to be a part of VR, but I will not work with Facebook. Their motives are too unclear and shifting, and they haven’t historically been a stable platform. There’s nothing about their history that makes me trust them.”

A Minecraft mod, called Minecrift is still available to those keen to experience Minecraft in VR.

We’ll be keeping a keen eye on how the Oculus situation develops from here. What are your feelings about Facebook buying Oculus, do you think this will ruin the tech gamers have been itching to get their hands on, or do you think Facebook will give Oculus some extra clout to bring VR tech to the masses?
