Manchester City latest: Reports of defender deal & Zabaleta on THAT challenge

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

We start with the Guardian’s claim that Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna has been offered a three-year deal by Manchester City.

The Frenchman is set to be a free-agent this summer, and with contract negotiations at the Emirates Stadium reportedly at something of an impasse, it is being reported that Sagna could be the latest Gunner to move to the Blues.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unlikely to be happy if Sagna does depart at the end of the current campaign, but for now the boss is fully focused on facing City this weekend.

Not that he thinks it will be easy.

In quotes published by the Manchester Evening News Wenger said, “Man City had a good result (against United). They look a bit unstoppable.”

Of the title race Wenger added, “It will be open until the end, but you can still have surprises as well.”

And finally, Pablo Zabaleta has hit out at Danny Welbeck after the United man’s challenge on Tuesday evening.

In quotes published by the Express, the City man said, “The first one was a very dangerous tackle by Welbeck. I was very lucky to be honest because I could have broken my leg.”
