Don't worry Flamini you didn't score the worst own goal this week...

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini scored an own goal last night - but he can enjoy the fact he didn't score the worst own goal this week.

It was certainly not a night to remember for Arsenal fans yesterday - as Everton snuck up on them in the race for the Champions League and their own title fight came to a premature end.

And the way in which they gave away two points against Swansea City was likely to have irked Arsene Wenger even more.

After fighting back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 a rather comical own goal saw Mathieu Flamini as the unfortunate recipient of the OG next to his name on the videprinter.

The Frenchman, it has to be said, was not really at blame for the misfortune. The ball ricocheted off of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny into the helpless legs of the Frenchman - who could only watch he ball squirm its way into the back of the net.

But Flamini can rest easily today - as he has not scored the worst own goal in world football this week.

It happened Sunday in the derby match between Nautico and Santa Cruz in the Pernambucano State Championship - with left-back Izaldo at fault for the mishap.

He managed to fluff two clearances, get lucky on the first one, before heading home the second.

Watch it below in all its awful glory.

And before you ask, no, this is not Andre Santos….
