So gutted not to with the team tonight but knee feeling better. Hopefully train tmoz! Come on city!!!— Micah Richards (@MicahRichards) March 25, 2014
Manchester City defender Micah Richards has handed Manuel Pellegrini with another reason to be cheerful this morning as he zones in on a return to first team training.
The right-back and right sided centre-half has been forced to manage persistent knee and hamstring problems throughout the season which has restricted him to just ten appearances for the club.
However, his return to training provides Pellegrini with a welcome boost over the remainder of the season as City battle against Chelsea and Liverpool to win the Premier League title.
With City out of the Champions League and the FA Cup, Pellegrini can take a cautious approach with the 25-year-old as he decides whether to extend Richards’ contract this summer or move him on.
