€40m Manchester United and Liverpool target with incredible assist in La Liga

Ivan Rakitic

Ivan Rakitic, also a target for Chelsea, produced a moment of brilliance for Sevilla last night.

In November Croatian international Ivan Rakitic refused to sign a new deal at his La Liga outfit - despite admitting he is happy at Sevilla. Since then it is no surprise that his name has been linked with several of the biggest players in the market across Europe.

Obviously that includes Premier League outfits. The Croatian has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool - while Chelsea have also been tentatively linked with his services.

His reported release clause is at €40 million - and while interested parties would love to spend less considering his form this season they might just stump up the cash for the talented maestro.

He recently denied he had signed a new deal at Sevilla - music to the ears of any potential suitors.

But last night he put in a performance that would have certainly got many Premier League outfits counting their money.

Rakitic was absolutely superb for Sevilla in their 2-1 win against Real Madrid - a result that seriously dented Los Blancos’ title hopes.

And the goal that did the damage, although scored by Carlos Bacca, was made in Croatia.

Rakitic took a sublime backheel touch to leave Pepe dumbfounded on the half-way line before then charging forward and playing a delightful outside of the right boot pass into the Colombian - who bundled the ball beyond Diego Lopez.

Check it out, and let us know if you would want him doing this for your team…
