Michael Owen hails City's 'total dominance' of United

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has had his say on their match against Manchester City.

Michael Owen will not be a name many Manchester City fans will like hearing, given the goal he scored for Manchester United in a 4-3 win at Old Trafford back in 2009.

But the former England international took to Twitter after the latest Manchester derby to hail the Blues' performance, and state that they are now in command of the title race.

"Total dominance from City," Owen wrote, before declaring it a "great team performance".

And that it was, as Manuel Pellegrini's side set about the match at a terrifyingly fast pace, scoring inside a minute and delivering a second-half display that rarely allowed the hosts to carve out even a half-chance.

There is still much for City to do before they can reclaim the Premier League title, but victory at Old Trafford was a big step in the right direction.
