Chelsea morning news: London rivals circle for £17m striker, youngster facing ANOTHER loan spell away

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Daily Telegraph claims that Tottenham are lining up a move for Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku.

Reports yesterday suggested that the Blues were ready to sell the forward this summer for a fee of around £17 million.

Jose Mourinho was thought to be against selling to another English club but he could be open to a deal if he doesn’t consider Tottenham to be a main rival.

The Mirror has claimed that Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford will be sent out on loan again next season.

The 20-year-old has impressed during loan spells with MK Dons and Derby County this season and has made it clear he wants to fight his way into the Chelsea first team.

However, the daily paper suggests that a move to Vitesse Arnhem could be on the cards, which will allow Bamford to play top flight European football.

The Sunday People claims Manchester United are ready to make a move for Chelsea defensive target Luke Shaw.

The left-back is rated as one of the best defensive talents in England and the paper suggests that United will open the bidding for him with a £26 million offer.

Chelsea are reported to want Shaw as a long term replacement to Ashley Cole in Jose Mourinho’s first team.
