Manchester City latest: Toure celebrated; Pellegrini warns against complacency

Yaya Touré interview

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Pablo Zabaleta has told Sky Sports that the Premier League title is Manchester City’s to lose.

We need to try to win every game but everything is in our hands,” he said.

We don’t have an excuse now. We only have Premier League games and we have time to recover well between the games.”

That is certainly the case, but the same can be said of Liverpool, who will be waiting for any slip-up from Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

And once such slip-up could come at Old Trafford tomorrow evening, if City are not fully-focused on the job in hand.

While Manchester United have not had the season they would have hoped for, they are playing their way into form just as their fierce rivals prepare to visit, and Pellegrini knows it will not be an easy match.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Chilean said, “Of course we always expect to go and win every game but, I repeat, just because Manchester United have had a difficult season it does not mean we are going to win.

We have to go there and play a very good game.”

And finally, City’s official website have celebrated Yaya Toure’s 50 goals for the Blues by posting a detailed infographic that reveals just how effective he has been since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium.
