Ipswich have completed the signing of Alex Henshall on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.
Alex Henshall has joined Mick McCarthy's Ipswich side on loan until the end of the season, in an attempt to aid their push for a play-off place.
The 20-year-old signed for City from Swindon Town aged 15 and is certainly capable of the spectacular:
Henshall has been on loan previously to Chesterfield and more recently Bristol Rovers where he scored one goal in his one start. If all the required work is completed in time Henshall could make his debut against Derby at Portman Road tomorrow.
Ipswich are fresh off a 2-0 win over promotion rivals Brighton on the weekend, where another loan man Jonny Williams of Crystal Palace put in a great performance. Williams has said he'd like to stay at Ipswich for the remainder of the season, though his current loan spell is due to end after Ipswich face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Williams said after the game: "It’s been a hard season for me, if I’m honest, and today I felt good again. I felt part of something special and part of a team again.
"It’s good to get out to a great club full of great players and a great manager. I’ve enjoyed my time here so far and hopefully that can continue."
Ipswich's next two home games will be crucial if they are to earn a place in the top six, and they are sure to be fired up and full of belief after beating a Brighton team who had dismantled QPR and Bolton in previous weeks.
