West Brom facing injury crisis for upcoming Cardiff game

Baggies are struggling for defensive numbers ahead of crunch game with Cardiff on Saturday.

West Bromwich Albion are facing an injury crisis ahead of their game with Cardif City this weekend.

The Baggies failed to back up their win over Swansea on Saturday, losing 2-0 to Hull City and picking up yet more injuries.

Defenders Gareth McAuley, Billy Jones and Diego Lugano are all suffering with knocks, while stand-in captain Jonas Olsson is still suspended for the game against the Bluebirds.

They join Victor Anichebe, Morgan Amalfitano, Christ Brunt and Claudio Yacob on the sidelines, all of which either limped off or missed the game with Hull.

Albion’s Craig Dawson has started the last two games and looks certain to keep his place in the side, while youth academy product Liam O’Neil made his senior debut against Swansea ten days ago, and may be called upon to start.

West Brom host Cardiff City at The Hawthorns on Saturday just three points clear of the Welsh club, who sit in the relegation zone.

The Bluebirds had impressive spells and scored three goals in their 6-3 defeat to Liverpool last weekend, and will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing an Albion side hampered by injury.

Who will come out on top between West Brom and Cardiff this weekend?
