Eriksen's double and Sigurdsson's late winner secured an impressive turnaround for Spurs, who had gone two behind courtesy of Rodriguez and Lallana.
Hugo Lloris 6.5/10 - Had no chance with either of the Southampton goals but made one key save from Lallana leading up to half time that may have put the game beyond Spurs.
Kyle Naughton 5/10 - A woeful first-half performance from Naughton who gifted both goals as a result of bad mistakes. Was given the runaround by Rodriguez and Shaw but improved drastically in the second half and did supply the cross for Eriksen's first goal.
Younes Kaboul 6/10 - Gave a hot and cold performance with some good moments as well as some poor ones. Hit one superb through ball from deep that nearly gave Eriksen his third.
Jan Vertonghen 6.5/10 - A little more secure than Kaboul in dealing with the Southampton threat. Sherwood needs bigger performances from him to steady this Spurs defence though.
Danny Rose 6/10 - Rose had a tough start as Southampton flew out of the blocks. Later on he was the chief attacking threat down the left, and his defensive game improved too.
Nabil Bentaleb 6/10 - Looked to be having a difficult game early on, getting out-passed by the Saints while misplacing some of his own. As the whole side did, improved after the break, and him and Sigurdsson got in the faces of Southampton to turn the tide. Booked.
Moussa Dembele 6/10 - The Belgian had a tough afternoon, with some loose tackles and lacking his usual strength. Sherwood later admitted Dembele had been ill and volunteered to play. Withdrawn for Sigurdsson at half time.
Aaron Lennon 6/10 - Struggled to get into the game as he was well marshalled by Shaw, withdrawn for Townsend with twenty minutes left.
Nacer Chadli 6.5/10 - Another decent showing by Chadli, who was winning plenty of headers just off Soldado. Looks to be much happier sharing central attacking midfield duties with Eriksen.
Christian Eriksen 8.5/10 - The Dane's best game in a Tottenham shirt. Was busy all over the pitch and scored a vital brace, the first time he's ever scored a double in professional football, to drag Spurs back into the game. Also set up Sigurdsson's late winner. It's clear Spurs need to build the midfield around the former Ajax man.
Roberto Soldado 7/10 - Was one of Soldado's best games in recent times, full of decent hold up play and quality touches. Enjoyed an ongoing battle for Dejan Lovren that at times threatened to boil over, but did really well to rob the former Lyon man and play an inch perfect pass for Eriksen's second.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (45') 7/10 - A really positive contribution from the Icelander, who had slipped out of the first team picture in recent weeks. Coming in for the tired Dembele and playing in his more preferred central position, Sigurdsson invigorated the Spurs midfield and his late goal was a superb long range strike.
Andros Townsend (72') 6/10 - Given 20 minutes for Lennon and also found the going tough against Shaw. Made one superb run with the ball and a really positive option to have from the bench.
