A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said he thinks Mario Mandzkuic will stay at the club.
The Croatian forward has been strongly linked with a move to the Blues, but it now seems a transfer is unlikely.
“I am aware that several clubs are interested in him but I think he will stay past the end of this season. I am noticing something by the players. They know what it means to play for Bayern and they appreciate it,” said Rummenigge.
Former Blues striker Salomon Kalou has claimed he turned down a late January loan move to Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal.
The forward was linked with the Gunners last winter but he turned down the move due to his World Cup preparations.
“A loan deal could have been done at the last minute. However, I want to finish third [in Ligue 1], prepare for the World Cup and go to the Stade de France to compete in the Coupe de France final,” he’s quoted by ESPN.
Jose Mourinho is hoping to have Samuel Eto’o back for selection within a fortnight.
The centre forward was taken off with a hamstring problem after scoring the first goal in Chelsea’s 6-0 thrashing of Arsenal over the weekend.
“Hopefully it's not so big. Hopefully it's not a one-month injury, it's 10 to 15 days,” said Mourinho.
