Liverpool morning news: Bellamy praises Suarez; one full-back in and one out?

A select round-up of news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson may have previously stated his desire to remain at Anfield, but the Telegraph claims Real Madrid are monitoring the England man’s situation.

Johnson will soon enter the final year of his contract, and as yet talks over a new one have reportedly been suspended until the end of the current campaign.

With Carlo Ancelotti said to be on the look-out for a new right-back, Johnson has found himself linked with a potential switch to the Bernabeu.

In other news, the Daily Mail has tipped Liverpool to move for Southampton’s Luke Shaw.

The newly-capped England international is a wanted man after a string of fine performances, but he will not come cheap, if at all.

With Jon Flanagan excelling on both defensive flanks this season, any move for Shaw would surely see Johnson move on.

And finally, former Red Craig Bellamy has praised Luis Suarez after the striker netted a hat-trick against Cardiff City.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Welshman said, “There’s Messi and then Ronaldo. That is it for the best, best players.

“Then there’s a group just beneath that and Luis is at the top of that group. There’s no two ways about that.”
