United put last Sunday's 3-0 defeat to rivals Liverpool behind them to perform an outstanding turnaround against Olympiacos in the Champions League in midweek, coming from 2-0 down in the first leg to go through 3-2.
But it's back to league action for David Moyes' side tonight, with his Red Devils travelling down to London to take on Sam Allardyce's Hammers, and Moyes will have been delighted with the start his side made, with Wayne Rooney giving United the lead in the eighth minute.
It wasn't just any ordinary goal though. In front of a watching David Beckham, Rooney went some way to recreating the United legend's famous goal against Wimbledon by unleashing a volley from the half way line, catching West Ham goalkeeper Adrian off his line to give United the advantage.
The stunning strike is Rooney's 12th goal of the Premier League season, and almost certainly not his last incredible goal for the club.
