The top five players linked with signing for Tottenham Hotspur this week: Konoplyanka, Remy and more

Loic Remy

Dnipro, QPR, Roma, Burnley and Charlton Athletic stars all feature.

Tottenham Hotspur are out of the Europa League but they have plenty to look forward to this summer.

Spurs face a fight to make the top four by the end of the season, but they have been linked with plenty of top European talent in the past week, which suggests they are still a very attractive proposition as a football club.

We’ve taken a look at some of the top players linked with moves to White Hart Lane.

1) Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)

Interest in the Ukrainian has apparently been building since rumblings spurs were trying to hijack Liverpool’s move for him last January. Stan Collymore revealed yesterday that a source had told him a deal could be in place by the summer, regardless of whether Tottenham are in the top four.

2) Loic Remy (Queens Park Rangers)

The Metro claims Spurs want to sign Remy from QPR on a permanent deal in the summer. The French forward has been plying his trade with Newcastle United on loan, but could push for a permanent switch at the end of the season. Tottenham could use another striker following the departure of Jermain Defoe.

3) Federico Balzaretti (AS Roma)

Balzaretti is an extremely versatile and experienced defender. He can play on the left side of central defence but more importantly, at left-back. His arrival could mean Jan Vertonghen is more likely to leave but it wouldn’t be a bad signing for Tim Sherwood to make by any means.

4) Danny Ings (Burnley)

Ings has been one of the most in form players in the Championship this season. He’s scored over 20 goals for the club and has made dramatic progress for a 21-year-old. It will be interesting to see how he gets on if he makes the step up with Tottenham but a deal could be difficult, especially if Burnley are promoted.

5) Diego Poyet (Charlton Athletic)

Another Championship star to be linked with Spurs this week is the son of former Tottenham player, Gus Poyet. Diego has been playing well for the Addicks this season but the major problem for Tottenham over a summer deal is the reported interest from La Liga giants Barcelona.
