The top five players linked with signing for Liverpool this week: Shaqiri, Muriel and more

Bayern Munich, Udinese, PSV Eindhoven, Dnipro and Sporting Lisbon stars all feature.

There’s plenty to feel good about at the moment if you’re a Liverpool fan.

The club has been able to enjoy the feeling of that dominant display against Manchester United all week, preparing for a summer where Brendan Rodgers will have to tool up ahead of a Champions League quest.

Liverpool have the resources to be competitive in the transfer market and we’ve taken a look at some of the best players to be linked with the club this week.

1) Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich)

The Swiss international has been suggested as a summer signing and he’s someone who could fill a problematic left midfield role for Rodgers. Arjen Robben has just sign a new contract at Bayern Munich which arguably makes Shaqiri more likely to leave if a good offer comes in.

2) Luis Muriel (Udinese)

If Liverpool get Champions League football for next season, they will need a player who can step in should Daniel Sturridge or Luis Suarez become unavailable. The £17 million rated Udinese forward could be that man with the Metro suggesting Liverpool are ready to pay big to land him.

3) Zakaria Bakkali (PSV Eindhoven)

Bakkali is a teenage winger who can also play in the hole as a second striker. He’s someone who has a solid record for his Dutch employers this season and someone who has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs. Rumour has it that Liverpool are going about their business quietly, hoping for a swift summer deal.

4) Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)

There have been reports all week long suggesting Konoplyanka is bound for Tottenham, which has triggered stories suggesting Liverpool are still interested in the wide man. They could still go after him if Rodgers fails to land Shaqiri in a deal from Bayern Munich.

5) Marcos Rojo (Sporting Lisbon)

Liverpool aren’t exactly short of defenders at the moment but the one area they could use an extra player is at left-back. The 23-year-old has been tipped to come in over the summer with Portuguese outlet A Bola suggesting he’s a main target for Brendan Rodgers.
