Atletico Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg, FC Porto, Sporting Lisbon and Southampton stars all feature.

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea stand a great chance of winning the Premier League title this season and they will be looking to strengthen either way over the summer.

Mourinho has created a very strong and impressive squad of players but he is short in one or two areas, as the summer draws ever closer.

We’ve taken a look at the rumour mill, which has suggested plenty of potential signings for Chelsea and created a list of the top five.

1) Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

The £32 million rated front man won’t be an unfamiliar name to Chelsea followers. He continues to be linked with the Blues, with the latest reports suggesting Mourinho remains very much interested in the Atletico star. He’s the iconic sort of figure the side has been missing in attack since Didier Drogba left the club.

2) Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg)

The Brazilian is another player who could form that iconic sort of symbol in the Chelsea attack. The Russian side have reportedly slapped a £40 million price tag on him and his agent admitted recently that there’s a good chance the player will move to a top club, suggesting English sides had the best chance of getting him.

3) Jackson Martinez (FC Porto)

Whenever there have been reports mentioning Martinez’ name, there have been mentions of Chelsea. Roma are now in the running for the striker but the Blues remain firmly linked with a summer move. TalkSport suggests the bidding for him is set to start at the £25 million mark.

4) William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon)

This would be a real coup for Mourinho if he managed to pull it off because the Sporting Lisbon star has been linked with Manchester United for a very long time. His buy-out clause is around the €45 million mark with the Portuguese club thought to be unwilling to go a penny under.

5) Sam Gallagher (Southampton)

The 18-year-old made his debut for the Saints last January and there are reports Chelsea are considering snapping him up in the summer. The forward is valued at around the £5 million mark and the Blues seem eager not to miss out on another player to graduate through the Saints academy system.
