Manchester United's midweek hero Robin van Persie, who was instrumental in the club's come-from-behind 3-2 aggregate win over Olympiacos, will not be available for selection against West Ham United on Saturday, March 22 after initial scans on the knee he injured on Wednesday evening proved "inconclusive".
Van Persie, 30, who has 15 goals in Premier League and Champions League competition thus far this season, left Old Trafford on a stretcher, however, fears he would be sidelined for a lengthy period were allayed in the post-match press conference when Moyes explained that it "did not look that bad".
Addressing the media today, Friday, manager David Moyes did reveal that van Persie will be out of action, but at this time it is unclear just how long for.
He said: "We're getting him re-scanned again today, we're not quite conclusive in everything we've seen so we just want to check that out.
"He won't be available for tomorrow's game but we'll try and give you an update when we can."
Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck will likely start.
