Chelsea morning news: Blues to hijack €45m United bid? £20m rated star tipped for Serie A

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Chelsea are thought to be keen on signing William Carvalho, strongly linked with a move to Manchester United.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo claims the Blues are interested in the Sporting Lisbon star along with United and Manchester City.

However, it’s reported that Sporting won’t allow the player to leave unless a club matches his buy-out clause of €45 million.

In terms of players who could be leaving this summer, Roma are reportedly looking at a swoop for Romelu Lukaku.

The £20 million rated young forward is thought to be vulnerable to a move if he’s not given assurances of regular first team football at the Blues next season.

Lukaku is believed to be a main transfer target for the Serie A giants as they look to improve their squad ahead of next season.

Fernando Torres is thought to be open to a return to former club Atletico Madrid.

Should the La Liga side sell Diego Costa this summer, they will be looking for an attacking replacement which could pave the way for Torres to go back to Spain.

“I have a lot of admiration for Cholo [Simeone] from when we were team-mates – In football you never know,” Torres is quoted by the Metro.
