'And Solskjaer has won it' - Manchester United Twitter account reminds fans of Bayern miracle

Manchester United will take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals.

OUCH! A wince travelled the land as it became clear that Manchester United would have to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Whilst United have toiled under their new boss this season Bayern have soared under theirs - as Pep Guardiola has led them to a magnificent domestic and continental season.

As soon as the news broke of course Twitter went into overdrive.

People using pictures of a shocked Moyes with the tag ‘when he found out the draw’ and the stream of Bayern players at Oktoberfest, clad in lederhosen, drinking fresh beer with the tagline ‘it’s OK we have United’ were all the very (un)original pieces doing the rounds.

But while the doom-mongers were having their way the club itself sent out a Tweet to remind fans that United have of course pulled off a miracle against Bayern Munich before…

Some might argue that overcoming this current Bayern side would in fact be more miraculous than that historic night in Barcelona.

But it just goes to show that miracles do happen in football - and United fans should not give up on their team just yet.
