A round up news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Tim Sherwood says he needs to be given full control of transfers heading into the summer market.
The head coach wants to bring in his own players and doesn’t want to be swayed by any other party in any deal.
“Nobody else will come in here unless I sanction it. You can't work any other way. The manager has got to work with the players so, unless he gets the players he wants, it's always going to be an uphill task,” Sherwood told the press.
One player Sherwood could bring in is Roma’s Fedrico Balzaretti with Roma reportedly ready to sell the defender.
Italian source TMW claims Roma deem the player surplus to requirements at the moment, which could pave the way for Tottenham to make a move.
He has a year left to run on his contract from this summer, which means Roma would logically prefer to sell him rather than let him leave for nothing in 2015.
Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino continues to be linked with the top job at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino has done a great job in charge of the Saints as speculation continues to grow that Tottenham will move on Tim Sherwood this summer.
However, it could be a struggle with some reports suggesting the Saints will improve Pochettino’s contract to get him to stay.
