Report: Inter beating Liverpool and Man City in Sagna race

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Inter are leading the race to sign Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna.

The future of Arsenal man Bacary Sagna remains unclear but La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are favourites for his signature at present.

The French international's contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in the summer and so far Arsenal have been unable to agree a renewal.

Sagna's demands of a pay rise and a large signing bonus are said to add up to around £20m and look set to deter the Gunners.

Inter are known to be keeping a close eye on the 31-year-old and have already pounced for Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic who becomes a free agent at the end of the current campaign.

Respected Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio said earlier in the week that Inter was no longer an option for Sagna and that Liverpool and Manchester City were his options should he leave Arsenal.

But today's La Gazzetta dello Sport disagrees and claims that Inter are ahead of the two Premier League clubs vying for his services.

The paper also reports that Inter are tracking Mainz striker Maxim Choupo-Moting who will also become a free agent in the summer.
