Antonio Valencia was arguably a surprise inclusion in the Manchester United starting XI for the visit of Olympiakos, and he has certainly had an eventful first-half.
Within the first ten minutes of the game, he went up for a header alongside an Olympiakos defender and unfortunately for the duo, they clashed heads resulting in a short injury break.
Manchester United’s Ecuadorian international certainly came off worse, as the cameras revealed his fully closed, swollen right eye to the watching audience.
The 28-year-old’s wars didn’t stop there, as soon after he drew a yellow card from Olympiakos playmaker Alejandro Dominguez for a crude sliding challenge which stopped Valencia in his tracks.
The challenge might affect Valencia’s vision over the next couple of days, but so far, it has done little to affect his energetic performance.
