The future of former Tottenham and Chelsea star Gus Poyet's son Diego has been the topic of much speculation in recent days.
Currently at Charlton Athletic, the 18-year-old midfielder has seen himself linked with a transfer to either Arsenal or Tottenham.
Yet the teenager's father would ultimately prefer his son to fulfil his potential at another club; Barcelona.
The current Sunderland boss told Spanish newspaper Sport:
"It would be a sight to see my son Diego at Barcelona.
"It's nice they relate. He'll have chance to play at a good level where they love football. He is 18, has a lot to learn and improve. He hates losing and players always do at the same level,"
He went onto add, during his come-and-get-him plea for his son: "I watch a lot of Barcelona. If I was asked about the world team I would have liked to play for it's Barcelona. I loved Cruyff's Barcelona, next to Pep Guardiola's the best ever."
Whether Barcelona will come calling is another matter, but the Catalans have raided England a couple of times over the past year, for Manchester City pair Joan Roman, and Denis Suarez.
If they do, should his father have anything to do with it, it would be hard to resist the lure of a switch to Spain, even with the former Chelsea and Spurs man currently working in the North-East of England.
Poyet Jr was born in Zaragoza, Spain, and has made 10 appearances for the Addicks this season, including the FA Cup semi-final last month.
