The Portuguese superstar, continuing to look nicely freshened up from his February suspension (with 7 goals in 6 games since his return) scored a superb brace against Schalke in Madrid on Wednesday night to help Real into the last 16 of the Champions League with a huge 9-2 aggregate score.
With Gareth Bale in superb creative form on the right wing, the Welshman assisted two of Real's three goals, Ronaldo led a slightly weakened team comfortably past the German side and into the next round while fully justifying their tag as one of the favourites.
Ronaldo's first goal came from great work by Bale, with the former Spurs man bursting into the right hand side of the box and sending a pinpoint cross for Ronaldo to easily tap home.
The Ballon d'Or winner's second goal was purely down to his own brilliance though, bursting through a terrified Schalke defence and smashing a near post shot expertly past Ralf Fahrmann.
Bale, who had also been involved as the ball broke to Ronaldo for his second, then created the third, passing to Alvaro Morata after Ronaldo's chances of a hat-trick had been denied by the crossbar.
And with performances like this, no-one will be wanting to draw the Spanish giants in Friday's Champions League draw.
