Chelsea's Thorgan Hazard breaks silence: I've had a difficult few months

Younger brother of Chelsea first team star Eden Hazard has been speaking about his recent spell in Belgium and future prospects.

While Eden Hazard lights up the Premier League and Champions League with Chelsea, the Blues may be about to double up.

For he isn't the only Hazard on the club's books, Chelsea signed younger brother Thorgan from Lens the same summer as Eden arrived from Lille, only to loan him out to Belgian side Zulte-Waregem ever since.

The forward has had an impressive season, contributing 11 goals and 17 assists, and is keen to test himself at a higher level.

In January a bitter twist emerged as his agent tried to engineer a switch of loan clubs for Hazard, to rivals Anderlecht instead, who currently sit just four points about Zulte in the Jupiler Pro League.

The player was apparently keen on the move but his present side dug in and resisted the efforts, with Chelsea also unwilling to put themselves out by negating the agreement they had with Zulte-Waregem.

He had kept his silence on the saga which dominated the sporting pages in Belgium earlier in the year, until yesterday when he gave an interview regarding it, and his future.

Thorgan Hazard told Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblade: "It was difficult weeks and months, I was frustrated that it did not happen.

"But after talking with my family and coach, I can turn the clock, and I am now better again in my self. My game is also getting better."

In late January he was awarded the Golden Boot, a prestigious honour, handed to Belgium's top talent. These recent comments are the first time he has spoken since the ceremony.

The Belgian under-21 international also talked briefly about his future, stating: "I will begi at Chelsea. Mourinho stated that perhaps instead he wants to have 'the little Hazard? We'll see, that's much too far in the future."
