For the winger to progress he needs a club in stability and not one in constant disarray.
According to Dnipro president Ihor Kolomoyskyi, Konoplyanka would prefer a move to White Hart Lane over Anfield as life in London is supposedly better.
Now obviously where one lives is a very important consideration in a player's decision to move but in this case the choice of club and club alone should take precedent.
Were it two similarly matched sides in terms of status and future prospects then perhaps the issue of residence could have more bearing but Tottenham and Liverpool are currently world's apart.
After the sacking of Andre Villas Boas and with replacement Tim Sherwood's position becoming increasingly tenuous as manager of Spurs, who is to say any of the linked coaches such as Louis Van Gaal will be long enough in a job themselves to ensure stability at the club.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is quick to hire and fire, fire and hire in his cutthroat approach to making the North London side a serious team in the Premier League.
The £100 million spent on players has at this point in time been a waste of money. While clearly some very talented players have joined, perhaps too many were brought in at one time. Sometimes when you change too much too quickly it can lead to the disastrous consequences. For the Lilly Whites that has been losing ground on the top four and with it the likeliness of missing out on the Champions League next season.
And there is the most important consideration of all. The one that should preoccupy Konoplyanka's mind daily as he ponders where next to ply his trade. He has spoken of his desire to play in a bigger league but surely not at the cost of playing in the biggest club competition of them all.
Of course at 24 he does have time on his side to showcase his huge talent on Tuesday and Wednesday nights but why put it off by a year or two (Konoplyanka might be persuaded that Tottenham will qualify in that time) when he can have it all immediately with Liverpool.
The Reds have pretty much tied up a Champions League spot and with Brendan Rodgers at the helm and FSG behind him are a club on the up.
They were desperate to buy Konoplyanka in January and came very close to securing his signature only for it to fall through at the last minute. He should understand that his career would be better served at Liverpool and give it as much time as possible in holding out for their return for his services. Liverpool need Konoplyanka and Konoplyanka needs Liverpool. Spurs, Yevhen?.....just look at Erik Lamela.
Do you agree that Konoplyanka should join Liverpool instead of Tottenham?
