Explosive performances from promising Lazio youngster Keita Balde Diao have caught the attention this season, with the 19-year-old being widely discussed as a possible Premier League summer target.
The teenager’s agent has been vocal over his client’s future, stating that if he does move a switch to England is likely.
“If he was to leave Lazio, we will never find a club in Italy that will buy him, assuming the important figures that (Lazio president) Claudio Lotito would ask for,” agent Ulisse Savini told Radiosei.
“How much is he worth? If a say a price Lotito will contradict me. But at present, according to my judgment, he cannot be worth less than €15 million.
“I think Keita would be fine with a future in English football. I think that it is much better there than in Germany, for example.”
Reports in the Italian media have speculated that the Stadio Olimpico outfit could be ready to open negotiations with the player to stave off interest from overseas.
Savini claimed that his client is open to talks and an improved contract is necessary for the player to stay at Lazio.
“We have a contract until 2017, it is obvious in the football business around the world that it is normal to receive attention from some foreign teams every weekend,” he continued.
“I honestly do not know what will happen in a year, but it is clear that the boy cannot continue to have this contract.
“But I have also learned to not be in a hurry. Previous experiences with Lazio have taught me you must be patient.
“There will be availability and a desire from both parties to sit at the table. It is just a matter of timing and I do not think that will be a problem.”
The Spanish-born revelation has played in 16 Serie A games for Lazio this season, scoring four goals.
Keita started and scored in Lazio’s last game – a 2-0 victory over Cagliari at the weekend.
