Brazil’s sports minister Aldo Rebelo says Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney will be one of the greatest attractions this summer.

According to the Telegraph, Brazil’s sports minister Aldo Rebelo believes that this summer’s World Cup in Brazil will be the greatest party in the world.

The biggest football competition in the world is set to host a number of worldclass players from all over the world, and amongst those is Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United’s number 10 will be hoping to go into the World Cup in the best form possible, and will need a strong end to the season to regain some much-needed confidence.

Following Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool – a loss which leaves them 12 points behind fourth place Manchester City – their highest paid player Wayne Rooney admitted that it was one of the worst footballing days of his life.

Despite the Red Devils’ disappointing campaign, Rooney has, however, joined an elite group of footballers to manage double figures in both Premier League goals and assists during the same season. When considering the poor performances of his teammates, it truly is a special feat only a wonderful player could produce.

Brazilian sports minister Aldo Rebelo reserved special praise for the 28-year-old, and believes that his special qualities will make him one the greatest attractions this summer.

He added: “One of the great attractions of the World Cup in Brazil will be Wayne Rooney,”

“Of course, I know about Wayne Rooney! He is a great, brave player. He has many qualities, dribbling, passing, shooting. He’s very daring.”

Will Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney repeat his club form for England this summer?
